Lakshya – the path to success

Program held on 28 October 2017, at Carmel PU College, Bengaluru.

Dr. Ali Khwaja of Banjara Academy at the convocation of students of Bangalore Community College, Bengaluru, 15 July 2017.

On Saturday 28th October 2017, Carmel PU College organized a unique program “Lakshya” in their college grounds to guide students in selecting the right career path. As many as 500 students from nearby schools and colleges participated. The program was conducted by Banjara Academy. After introductions Ali gave an overview on the fact that ‘how’ you choose a career is far more important than ‘what’ career you choose. Given the way our country is progressing and opportunities are opening out, the right choice for the right reason can ensure not only financially rewarding career, but also an opportunity to enjoy working life for half a century. He distributed a small note containing simple bullet points to go step-by-step and ensure the right choice.

Subsequently the students were invited to ten different rooms where experts from various fields gave short presentations and answered individual questions of students who gained tremendous insights into careers ranging from defence to design, engineering to law, medicine to architecture, and various others. The interesting aspect was that majority of the resource persons were not just qualified and practicing in their respective vocations, they were also former students of counseling from Banjara Academy!

Reema and her team had a steady stream of students coming into the counseling room to clarify doubts in wide areas from admission procedures to list of colleges and how one can determine aptitude. Students also discussed parent-child differences in career selection, and they were given valuable tips on best practices to fulfill their dreams.
