My journey with this course was very nice.

The take aways are:

Earlier I always used to think that if someone is opening his/her heart and talking about their problems , it means they want some solution from me. I also used to feel the obligation of either suggesting some way out and also giving them a feeling that eventually everything will be alright. Misconception removed.

Even till very late I was tempted to give them advise , as if I can think better than them and I know some ways that they may not be knowing. Most of them wanted me to think for them and ask for suggestion instead of telling me what they propose to do.

There was a falsehood also in my approach as many a times I used console them where as I knew that if things move like this there is no hope. I used to think that is positivity.

My approach was first fact finding and pointing them rather than emphasizing on catharsis first.

A change has come in my approach. Now keeping an eye on my temptation , I want them to think how they can handle this situation.

Also learnt that counselee either should have interest in improvement or I should be able to generate the interest by showing the possibilities and opportunities that life gives.

I felt the course content was very shallow. The course has given me an attitude and has left me to search for the content elsewhere.

Though online was the only option available to me , I missed guidance. I felt hesitant in bothering my mentor. Though I always got support from my mentor ,Rajrajeshwari jee, I feel some official chat room or skype classroom in between can be more helpful. With the web facility we will gain a lot from discussion.

Many a times there was delay in getting feedback for my assignments. May be mentors are overloaded.

Lastly I could not have been what I am today without Banjara. I owe my fresh approach towards counselling to Banjara. I also hope to do some specialisation to upgrade myself with Banjara University.
