My course experience has been pretty good. My self awareness about my own emotions and how I deal with my emotions has improved.

It has changed my interactions with people as I have started thinking about the emotions they may be going through when they act or react in a certain way. This has started to change my perspective for the better. I think it will reduce my stress and anxiety levels when difficult situations arise. I had my apprehensions about the effectiveness of an online course because the topic requires interactions with others. However, the examples and case studies made us feel that we were dealing with real people and real situations. I used the audio material quite a lot during commute. Genie's feedback was always positive, had a lot of positive strokes and I always felt encouraged and motivated. In quite a few cases, the feedback clarified the situation, made me to see the situation slightly differently and helped in sharpening my skills. I did attend "Experiential Counselling Workshop" which helped gain some practical experience through mock sessions. If similar (or real) counselling sessions are included as part of the IGDCS, it will become even more effective. Overall, a great program and thank you for bringing it out online!
