Banjara Academy warmly hosts M. S. Sathyu, Bengaluru, 3 July 2017.

Some people leave their mark wherever they go, M. S. Sathyu is one such prominent theatre and film personality. Mysore Shrinivas Sathyu (born in Mysore, Karnataka) is a leading film director, stage designer and art director from India. He is best known for his directorial film Garam Hawa (1973) based on the partition of India. He was awarded Padma Shri in 1975. An eminent member of IPTA, he has been the face of many revolutionary ideas and movements. Banjara Academy was graced by his presence on 3rd July’17. His presence and words encouraged the budding actors of this generation who were present there for the rehearsal conducted everyday at the academy of a Hindustani play, “Tipu Sultan Ke Khwaab” originally written by Girish Karnad. It was translated into Hindustani and directed by Zafer Mohiuddin. The play is being staged in Chowdiah Memorial, Malleswaram, Bangalore on 13th and 14th July 17 .
