Wanted Counsellors - Action For Mental Illness (ACMI)

Action For Mental Illness (ACMI) is a registered, public, charitable Bangalore-based NGO that works for the rights and wellness of persons under treatment for major mental disorders (www.acmiindia.com). We are  looking for a part-time Advocacy Program Executive located at Bangalore for the following tasks in our organization:

  1. Lobbying with the Government on issues pertaining to mentally affected persons and getting our viewpoints through.
  2. Planning and executing Stigma Busting and Public awareness programs/events/training.
  3. Raising funds wherever and whenever required.

The job will need the following:

  1. Location at Bangalore with occasional traveling.
  2. Personal mobility.
  3. Home Office facilities like computer/printer/personal mobile or phone.
  4. Effective communication and negotiation skills to reach win-win situations.
  5. Prior exposure to mental illness, disorders, legislations (preferable).
  6. At least 3 years work experience in similar jobs and also training expertise.
  7. Spoken and written knowledge of English/Kannada.
  8. Willingness to learn the job unique to ACMI.
  9. Giving at least one year commitment.
